Happy Easter and Welcome, Spring!
This podcast contains a few seemingly disparate elements, tying terrorist attacks and my 9-11 story to this week's newsletter on guilt and grief entitled:
"The G Spots (*Rated G)"
I also take you on a belated adventure to the Shilin Night Market from my Christmas in Taipei, Taiwan.
And of course...the Nomad Tip of the Pod: Don't Ever Panic!
Thanks again to Ben of Ben Sounds for his entertaining royalty-free music.

Hey, On the Fritz listeners!
This week I'm Podcasting from Soda Springs, California where it has been snowing like mad! Quite the contrast from sunny Hawaii, but I'm enjoying re-learning layering techniques and entertaining myself with funky royalty free music!
In this podcast:
I come dangerously close to saying more than a few sentences about this political race thingy...but stop myself.
Also:
Nomad Tip of the Pod: economical ways to keep up your yoga or fitness routine on the road, featuring my favorite app, Yelp.
Listener Response:
In response to my request to questions and comments from last week's podcast, I read an email from my friend Colleen, who I met a few summers ago at a writing workshop given by fabulous writer and human extraordinaire Nancy Aronie. It took place at a lovely little hippie dippy center called Esalen in Big, Sur, California.
I also discuss food--a lot.
Thanks again to the fabulous Ben for his entertaining royalty free music at: www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music
If he is indeed an actual human, perhaps we will meet one day. See you all next time from a new location...On the Fritz!

Hey, On the Fritz listeners!
In this episode I tackle two messages I received this past week from friends. Warning for those expecting lumberjacks or Linda...this one's more serious. I read aloud part of the exchange between one friend on the topic of grief and how to deal; the other, I scratch the surface of the answer to the question posed, "What has been instrumental in helping you move forward in happiness after your loss..?"
But wait...there's more!
I'm giving the podcast an "earlift" and need your help!
If you have questions about how I travel/nomad, need advice about a specific location I've been to, tips and tricks for how to explore "on the cheap", or are even having a difficult time with an issue of grief and how to keep going...I'd love to share my experience in podcast Q & A form.
Nothing is too personal or taboo--and don't worry, your identity is safe with me! Send a private message on Facebook: Susan Fritz, susanmfritz@gmail.com, or something telepathically and I'll try and stay tuned in.

Linda is baaaack!
And so am I for a brief visit to the 'burbs of Portland, Oregon.
In this episode, I hand my mom, the Notorious L.I.N.D.A, a copy of that ubiquitous local rag (in this case, The Portland Mercury), and let her loose!
Once again, without her knowledge (bad daughter), I began recording after I realized this was material was potential comedic genius.
Stay tuned for the next episode in the works where Linda (knowingly) adds her two cents about our trips to the doctor and the DMV.
Thanks for listening...enjoy!

You will learn just a few things in this episode:
1: I am still alive.
2: I am melting (did I mention it's hot in Bali...?)
3: I would not make for a highly sensitive cultural guide. ("um...yeah, so they have these sacred religious traditions...")
4: If you've never heard of the Winchester Mystery House, you will now!
5: I lecture you for a few seconds about "obligatory Xmas gifts".
*Important disclaimer: I realize that Bali is not Bali H'ai (**I can look things up on the Google, too you know...!)
**Important disclaimer #2: That was a joke. I am actually familiar with the musical South Pacific and, as an amateur/immature "know-it-all", need you to know that I know the situation.
Welcome back!

A day before it snows in Anchorage, Susan leaves Alaska for a reunion with her unintentionally hilarious mom, Linda, in Hillsboro, Oregon.
It's a beautiful afternoon during Part 1. The pool in Linda's apartment complex is "Closed for the Season", but that doesn't stop the Dynamic Duette from sitting outside of the pool and soaking up some sun!
Next stop: The Sportsman's Warehouse where the dynamic duo searches for a cot for Susan to sleep on instead of the wicked uncomfortable couch during her visit. No success, but great tunes to accompany this fantastic outing. Linda finds a Carhartt shirt--WITH buttons!
Final stop: The afternoon rounds off with a quick stop at the Wendy's drive-thru for the new Pulled Pork sandwich. Then to Cabela's where Susan gives in and purchases the "Cot Close-out Special". They drive home in rush-hour traffic, discussing everything from the OJ Simpson trial to Driver's Ed--and Susan struggles to remember her instructor's name (anyone listening who can provide this info gets a prize).

Previously released but temporaraly offline, this is the first episode of the On the Fritz with Susan Fritz podcast!
Susan gets her feet wet by pressing record after an incident with a wasp. She also plays her mouth trumpet for the podcast opener and consults with her always amusing mom, Linda, about home remedies for stings. Someday maybe they'll say...it all started here!

Linda returns! We discuss Smokey the Bear Then and Now, what Linda wanted to be when she grew up, education, teaching, "the kids these days", the importance of taking a paid vacation, salads, and the start of football season! (amongst other things...)
Important Notes: Karen is my sister; the illogical gaps are logical in our world.

Susan explores the definition of Kitsch, kvetches about leaf blowers, and creates dinner out of the scant contents in the kitch-en. She also reminisces about that time she met Jerry Springer. Warning: lousy accents and singing ahead.
